Packing as become my focus of my nervous anxiety. I have over planned my packing list about five thousand different ways. My Psych 101 class would label it as my outlet to control an uncontrollable trip.
I found this really awesome site travelfashiongirl.com where she blogs about making round the world trips with just a 16 by 22 inch carry-on. She calls is capsule wardrobe packing and she uses ebags to really pack her clothing items. She also had great suggestions on picking the right clothes to travel with to get the most use out of and that balance function and fashion.
Anyway here is what I came up with as far as my wardrobe. I need to layer because Seoul will have weather between 40 F to 70 F and light rains to sunny. All my pieces mix well and layer well. My personal goal is to see if I can not wear the same outfit twice. Oh, and travelfashiongirl.com says to pack 10 pieces. I packed more. (1) she chases the summer and one summer dress isn’t going to cut it and (2) I am not trying to be a super hero. Sometime a girl needs an extra cute sweater. 😉
I packed 2 V-Neck shirts, 2 Long sleeve dressy shirts, dark denim shirt, 3 open sweaters, 2 pullover sweaters, white long skirt, green convertible dress, black dress, 3 leggings, 2 denim jeans, 3 scarves, 2 thermals, brown jacket, tennis shoes and 2 flats.
I am NOT taking a carryon mainly because I have lots of gifts to take and I need the extra room to bring home some extra shopping goodies. ;). But after I packed my clothes in these bags I think that I easily could.
I also finished (with the help of my mom.) A fun project for my undergarments. It is a bag with two sides with two zippers– one side is “Wear” and the other is “Wash”. I put the iron-on patches on. Keeps everything separated, organized, and pretty.
Today I broke out my label maker and labeled my ebags. Aidan typed them out for me. I think I may have created a monster with that kid. He wanted to label EVERYTHING in my bag. I don’t know why, but having my bag organized brings me peace.
